Are you a coach, corporate trainer, or HR / OD professional

who is passionate about building the relational skills and non-judgment capability

in the people you help develop?

The SRQ assessment and development tool has been designed specifically

to explore how we judge ourselves and others through the lens of relationship,

and is powered by a new level of emotional intelligence.

The SRQ is an assessment and development tool built around the Successful Relationships Questionnaire.  With an optional 360 report, The SRQ is used on leadership development programs and in leadership coaching that assists leaders in identifying the true impacts they have on the people they lead, as well as on their own performance and influence.

It encourages leaders to build the high touch habits that accelerate their ability to make powerful, authentic connections with the people they interact with, within their teams, and across the enterprise.  These relational skills are essential to meet today's expectations placed on our organizational leaders of accountability, transparency and integrity.

The SRQ offers a new level of development for leaders who need to understand the impact they have on others.  It is particularly poignant in the development of high potentials and senior leaders whose success depends on their ability to be non-judgmental, compassionate, confident and accountable.

"Over the last five months, I have had the distinct privilege of gleaning the wisdom and knowledge from Amanda Knight.  As I have been a part of Amanda’s Successful Relationships Questionnaire Certification Cohort, I have grown so much and learned more than I can imagine.   Amanda’s knowledge of Emotional Intelligence (EI), and her work with Applied EI has been invaluable to me as a coach and consultant.  The way she has woven the practice of Applied Emotional Intelligence with Transactional Analysis has opened many doors for me to encourage my clients toward increased growth and results in their lives, loves and leadership.

The Successful Relationships Questionnaire is a robust assessment, but one that allows me to approach the client at a deep heart level.  This heart level approach is what initially drew me to pursue certification in the SRQ Assessment and to Amanda’s tutelage.  I have not been disappointed and have not once second guessed my choice.  While I am a long way from having the level of understanding that Amanda has, I am much better equipped to assist clients to be the best they can be. I am excited to be a fully certified in the SRQ Assessment and to continue learning from Amanda along this journey."

What Does The SRQ Measure?

Developed on the powerful principles of applied emotional intelligence and Transactional Analysis (including ego states), The SRQ provides a non-judgmental assessment and deep insight into:

  • limiting perceptions, blind spots, and self-sabotaging attitudes and behaviours that drive judgment
  • use of power in relationship dynamics (including tendency to rescue, criticize, rebel or comply)
  • levels of confidence in others, and levels of own self-confidence
  • the impact of self esteem in handling stress, change and conflict
  • recognizing and managing emotions and emotional responses to challenging people and situations

Why is this self awareness, non-judgment capability and relational ability essential for today's leader?

Today's leaders need to be able to:

  • Empower: value and trust others which in turn enables them to follow
  • Focus: manage distractions and their own limiting behaviours to remain highly effective
  • Be authentic: be known, liked and trusted, leading to a powerful ability to inspire and influence others

"It has really come home to me how truly non-judgmental and self-coaching The SRQ is.  And with the 360 scales, there really isn't a sense of a 'low' score, just different perspectives."  Maureen Bowes, Director, People Intelligence

How is The SRQ Different from Other Assessments?

A unique aspect of The SRQ assessment is its analysis of an individual's relational patterns based on the principles of Ego States from Transactional Analysis.  This unique analysis gives profound insight to how an individual relates with him / herself and with others.  This concept is particularly powerful for use in developing high trust, empowering leaders and for helping individuals handle conflict.

Another key differentiator between The SRQ and other profiling tools is that its focus is on 'how to change' rather than 'how you are'.  It is an 'applied' tool.  As such, it can also be used in tandem with personality and psychometric measures to address the 'So what now?' question.

Not so easy to fake!

A significant benefit that The SRQ offers in that the online questionnaire that powers the reports is relatively difficult to fake - one of the criticisms of other measures of 'soft skills' and emotional intelligence.

The reason for this is that The SRQ asks the user to score themselves along 33 dimensions (pairs of words/phrases), few of which appear to have a right or wrong, or preferred answer.

And yet the output is consistently, and uncannily accurate, according to feedback we regularly get from users of the tool.

"WOW, The SRQ profile is impressive!  It's so multi-layered, focused and interconnected and above all - useful.  It shows a really profound understanding of all of the relationship theories and how they overlap.  And as I'm writing this, it occurs to me that it is in the overlap that the the spark lies."  Annette Simmons, author 'Quantum Skills for Coaches'

Why is The SRQ so Powerful?

The SRQ is a highly effective and transformational coaching tool because it addresses:

1. The fear of judgment, of being labelled, or being pigeon-holed, or of being put in a box

The SRQ's non-judgmental approach aims to highlight the individual's unique attributes and potential, as well as their interferences to effectiveness and high performance.  It does not seek to define who they are or infer that they should change, rather it helps them rediscover their deeper, wiser, unconditioned self.

2. Resistance to change and the attitude 'So what? - That's just how I am'

The SRQ has been built to answer the 'so what' questions often left wanting from other assessments - 'So what?  This is how I am.'  'So what do I do now / how do I change?'.  A perfect add-on to other personality assessments, The SRQ encourages the individual to take responsibility for their feelings, behaviours and choices, and to recognize the impact these have on others, and their own life outcomes.  It focuses on how to enhance the positive elements of their personality, and manage the unhelpful aspects.

3. The frustration of knowing change is needed but not knowing what to do about it

Throughout the personal SRQ reports, the individual is encouraged to explore their current behaviours and attitudes, what changes they could make if they choose to, and how to go about that.  A range of exercises and workbooks are available with the reports to help them take positive steps forward, either on their own or with the guidance of a coach.

This powerful personal change system:

  • is administered online
  • has an optional 360 profile
  • includes extensive 'Next Steps' workbooks
  • requires feedback from an SRQ-trained consultant
  • includes an entry level 'indicator' report - great as an introductory tool or for use in teams.
